Sports media: Mindi Bach out at NBC Sports Bay Area

Veteran sports anchor and reporter Mindi Bach has parted ways with NBC Sports Bay Area.

The cable network chose not to renew Bach’s contract. Bach tweeted about the development Sunday afternoon:

As you may or may not have heard, NBCSBA has decided not to renew my contract. Without a doubt, my favorite time during my 9 years there was covering the #49ers with @MaioccoNBCS & @JCGar75! Thanks everyone for all the support. I’ll let you know where my next adventure begins!

The move doesn’t come as a major surprise. Comcast, which owns NBC, has been reducing its cable personnel in the Bay Area and beyond. In January, Joe Stiglich, who covered the Oakland A’s for four years, did not have his contract renewed by NBC Sports Bay Area.

Bach had been an anchor and reporter for NBC Sports since 2009, but has served in various on-air roles for the network since 1999 when the network was Fox Sports Bay Area.
